Interior Painting

It’s time to paint! Maybe you just purchased a new home and you loved everything about it, except the previous owner’s choice of colors. It’s possible you’ve lived in the same home for many years and you’re looking for a way to fall in love with your home all over again. Perhaps you’re ready to sell, and you know that a fresh coat of paint can actually increase the property value and make it easier to sell once it hits the market. Color is closely linked with our mood, emotions, and feelings. In fact, color therapy is just as old as any other form of medicine, practiced since the times of the Ancient Greeks and Egyptians. Fortunately, you don’t have to break the bank to update your home’s color scheme more to your liking. Reno NV Painters offers affordable interior home painting to help you get your groove back.
Sheen
If you’ve been browsing paints at your local retailer you may have found each color has a variety of different sheen types. Historically, high gloss paint was your only option, which was not so great if you’re trying to save money. Eventually, somebody discovered you could add calcium carbonate to the paint, reducing the cost to paint a room. Now you have different types of paint sheen to choose from. Each type is recommended for its own particular use, designed to help you save money. High gloss and semi sheen is best suited for kitchens and bathrooms because its the most durable and easiest to clean. Satin finish is still easy to clean and works well for areas with high traffic like your family room, living, room, or home theater. We recommend eggshell finish for low traffic rooms, such as your dining room. Flat finish is great for high-pigment wall coverage (saves money) for a low traffic area like your bedroom. Of course, these are just guidelines, and you can always go for a higher sheen just about anywhere you’d like. Keep in mind that using high gloss paint is always going to be the most expensive because of the paint cost itself and because its more labor-intensive, requiring a smooth level 5 finish for drywall to hide imperfections.
